The Impact of Hip Hop Culture on Fashion

The urban lifestyle is represented by many things, but at the core there is a strong sense of art, music and fashion. Each element that this lifestyle encompasses follows a similar trend; breaking free from the system.

Originality, uniqueness, and self expression; all in its purest form...

This can be seen in many things, not least the uprising of the growing demand for designer clothes in the urban fashion marketplace, and the ever increasing popularity of RnB/Hip Hop and rap tunes appearing in popular music charts. Graffiti artists such as the infamous Banksy constantly push the boundaries of acceptability, making the headlines and asking the questions that most people dare not. Huge designer clothing brands such as Gio Goi and King Apparel are immensely popular, and dance remixes of classic songs can be heard in night clubs up and down the country.

This fashion is becoming more and more mainstream, however, and everything from designer t-shirts to caps and jeans are all available in unique, groundbreaking styles. Kudos to these designers, these innovators, who bring art into fashion. We live our lives by a backdrop of music, discovery and self-expression, so this should indeed be reflected in what we wear. People customize their phones, their desks, their living space and even their bodies. What we wear says a lot about who we are, and if it's good enough for people we see on television, it's certainly good enough for the man on the street!

Where will this genre take fashion in the future? Who knows, but you can be sure that the core influences will remain the same.

A woman can realize what a great experience it is after buying a coach purse. Many women buy coach purses to save the money from a very long time. However, coach pocket books have become a fashion for people, celebrities and even young girls have also been known to carry coach purses as a fashion statement.

If you are interested to get a coach purse at an affordable price there is only one place which will provide you coach products at very cheap and discounted price. That place is termed as Coach Outlet. A Coach outlet is one of the best places to look for coach products.

The first Coach outlet opened fifty years ago and was started by a family. After the first outlet started, they later grew the business and opened three hundred shops in the US.

Coach outlets are located all over the world. The main headquarter for Coach Outlets is in New York and the company is listed on the stock exchange market. There are also offices in Japan and in nineteen other countries.

The higher end shops that sell Coach pocket books at full price send their out-of-season purses to the Coach outlet. The reason for this is because the larger store generally has a high profit count. Men's Underwear Takes The Plunge- Boxers, Briefs or Neither?

For many years, the domain of men's underwear has remained firmly divided into two camps: briefs and boxers. However, over the last few decades, the variety and trends in men's underwear have evolved significantly - so much that owning fashionable underwear has become as important to many men as owning trendy outer garments!

The revolution in men's underwear began in the 1950s, when underwear manufacturers began printing patterned and coloured undergarments. After years of simple, white underclothing, men were finally presented with more varied choices when it came to their underwear. However, the injection of "sex appeal" as one of the main selling points of underwear only really began in the 1970s and 1980s. The launch of 'designer' underwear, including Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Jockey, sealed the status of underwear as essentially a garment to treat with pride once and for all.

In fact, the status of underwear became increasingly exotic with the production of a series of adverts in the 1980s and early 1990s. Mark Wahlberg, for instance, embraced his success as an underwear model for Calvin Klein to launch his ensuing career as a hip-hop star and all-round Hollywood hotshot. Similarly, the classic 1985 Levis commercial - in which model Nick Kamen stripped to his underpants in a Laundromat to the sound of Marvin Gaye's 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine' - is often credited with making boxers fashionable once again.

Today's modern objectification of mens underwear has led to a number of fads. For instance, in the late 1980s, hip hop stars pioneered the image of wearing jeans and shorts very low on the waist, in order to expose their underwear. The trend has lasted the test of time and is now popular with a wide variety of men, from hip-hop icons to indie rock stars.

Popular trends of the 'Noughties' have also inspired new underwear trends; bright patterns and bold colors adorn many of the briefs and boxers of 2007, inspired by a range of modern indie and rave movements. Gone are the days when black, grey or white boxers or briefs were all men had to choose from in underwear departments - various men's clothing retailers now sell men's underwear in a range of colors, patterns and stripes. What's more, 2007 has seen the Y-front return to the forefront of many retailer's underwear lines. So whether you're hankering after a pair of fire-red briefs, or you're keen to find yourself a pair of 1980s retro print Y-fronts, you're sure to discover the men's underwear that's perfect for you. So ditch those tighty-whities and embrace a new style of colorful drawers today!

Uniform Shirts

Uniform shirts refer to the dress codes in various companies which are present in the corporate world. For some it is of no use to have a dress code, but those who know about the benefits of a particular dress code feel its need and importance. Corporate clothing or what we particularly call the dress code has been a marketing tool as well as it has been used to brand. These uniforms have been present since ages. When we are able to combine these we are able to achieve two goals simultaneously.

The importance of the dress code and uniform lies in the fact that having a dress code or the company slogan or a logo helps to expand our business horizons. Expanding the business horizon means that we are able to relate and extend the business easily in different directions.

When we consider the uniforms, in some situations where a team effort is asked for, it plays a vital role as it helps in gelling workforce and helps build team spirit and it helps to maintain discipline, thus building a stable team. This gelled up team with work for better results and thus in turn will produce better outputs.

There are mainly two pillars that hold any business. These are marketing and human resource. When we have these uniforms or the dress codes then it is easy to maintain both these aspects easily and effectively. Let us take an example of any restaurant. If we consider the marketing strategy of these food outlets their branding is done very effectively with the help of these uniforms .when the staff member will wear dresses or uniform that brand their product so they can easily relate themselves with the product they are branding. They are very clear in their minds to what their brand is.

It is very important to combine the brand as well as the marketing exercise as both of these are equally important in running a business effectively. As we know that in today's time advertising is not that cheap as it used to be. So if the staff members are wearing these uniforms to office it will automatically endorse the product for which they are working.

Thus having uniform shirts helps not only in the identification of the workforce but also gels them together and provides them with a driving force for better results and achievements. Well people believe or not uniforms help in raising the businesses to greater heights.

Time Management: the Secret to Life Balance?

Each year, companies shell out thousands upon thousands of dollars to send employees off to time management seminars. They bring in outside consultants who specialize in time management issues, to get their teams up to speed and drive sales more efficiently.

Do you ever feel like you could use a few time management classes? Not just on the job... but in all aspects of your life? I think it's fair to say that most of us feel like we aren't managing our time to the best of our ability. And if you're searching for work-life balance... the time issue can really put a crimp in your plans.

Having better control over one's time is one of the key issues explored here at REFLECTIONS Coaching. We can't help noticing that an onslaught of technology and an ever-pervading sense of "be more, do more" is stealing our precious hours. Seems that no matter who you are or what you're trying to accomplish, someone is seeking you out at this very minute, ready to take up "just a few minutes" of your time. When you add up all of those "few minute" interruptions, it's no wonder that the day slipped away.

So what's the solution to the "time is the new currency and we need more of it" issue?

Perhaps the first step is realizing that no matter how many time-saving conveniences are available to us... there are still only 24 hours in a day. If someone is feeding you the promise that they can give you back time lost, they're probably lying. Because the truth is... no one can help you manage your time more effectively than you.

Often, it helps to step back and take an objective look at ourselves. What activities are we filling our days with? Do you try to make the best use of your time-management skills? (And an even more revealing question: do you actively follow through on the promises you make?)

Consider the following means for maximizing your time each day:

Sitting down and marking your plans on the calendar, then keeping those plans

Segmenting your day, week, month, season into routine activities that are easily managed

Sticking to the schedule that you mapped out for yourself (and not the one someone else prescribed)

Setting and adhering to time-sensitive goals

Deciding what's truly "urgent" and what can wait until later

Setting boundaries that prevent you from becoming distracted

Being gentle yet firm when others try to encroach upon your time

Respecting others' time, being patient and willing to wait

The second step involves recognizing the limitations of technology. Yes, there are certain tools out there that serve as "shortcuts" to getting things done faster... but they also lead us down divergent paths.

If time is slipping through our fingers, there must be a reason for it. Last time you looked at the clock it was 7:30 a.m. Now you glance up again, and somehow it's twenty minutes past your lunch hour. Where did the time go? Here are some ideas on where it might have snuck off to. Think about:

The total minutes you spent answering "non-urgent calls and emails" this morning.

The coworkers who pulled you away from whatever you were doing because of matters that needed immediate attention

Every single time you stopped to check email or "research something" on the internet

That captivating news headline or announcer's voice on the radio that lured you away from work

Time management challenges stem from the following fact of life: most of us allow our days to be driven by what happens to us, instead of taking charge and deciding what's going to happen. We fail to prioritize what's important to us. We fall into the trap of doing and being all things to all people.

Remember:

It's okay to say, "I'll call you back at a more convenient time."

It's a smart idea to shut off your email for three hours and simply focus on one task.

In decades past, people didn't have answering machines, let alone cell phones - and they survived.

Teaching our children to put down their technology and listen with all five of their senses is a GOOD thing.

History Of Skiing

Sure skiing is a dangerous and potentially lethal sport. Even so, statistics have never stopped people from taking risks, and the popularity of skiing and all that it entails continues to rise all over the world. However, the art of skiing as we know it today took over five thousand years to evolve and become a sport of adrenalin and action.

The earliest traces of skiing goes back to the nomadic tribes of Asia and Europe, who were forced to develop a means of transport for the snow-covered slopes they had to contend with during their travels. The earliest skis were actually just the bones of large animals that were tied to the feet with the help of strings made from the animals' guts or skin. Wooden skis came to be used in the Lapland region, now Norway, Finland and Sweden, about two thousand years ago. The people who used these skis did not bother to venture on to the steep Alpine slopes since the skis attachments were crude and easily came apart at higher speeds. Skis were occasionally used during war to facilitate transport and spying in the mountains of Europe.

Norway was the site of the development of modern skiing. A Norwegian by the name of Sondre Norheim created the first stiff skis and bindings, sometime in the year 1850. With the increased stiffness of the bindings, the control and maneuverability of the skis increased allowing users to turn, twist and navigate easily. The development of modern skiing took very little time from here on and the Arlberg technique, on which the entire modern sport is based, came into being. In the year 1936, skiing under the aegis of Nordic sports, was introduced in the Winter Olympics held at Switzerland. Skis were also used extensively by the Russians and Germans during the two World Wars.

In its present form, nearly 50 million people enjoy the sport each year.

Football Team Kits

It takes a lot to keep a football team running, especially if they're between the ages eight and fourteen. If you've got children who play soccer, or if you need a gift for a friend or family member's birthday, you might want to take a look at some of the football team kits available from various vendors online. These kits can offer a wide array of products to keep your players playing. In this article, we'll take a look at some of the various products offered at popular online retailers, including shoes, training and coaching gear, base layer clothing, and the like.

Two of the most important aspects of a player's performance in football are, obviously, his or her feet. Therefore, what more important article of clothing could he or she wear than shoes? At the numerous online retailers, you'll find a great selection of football boots, youth football boots, and other footwear offered in their football team kits. These can range anywhere from sixty to one hundred and thirty pounds, and while the pricier shoes might seem like a dent to the wallet, their performance is unmatched. If you know a serious player or you yourself are looking for new equipment, don't hesitate to check out some of the more upscale footwear available online.

Base layers are another crucial component in keeping a player at his or her best during the game, and keeping players warm while playing in snow can often be a difficult task. There are a variety of clothing types to do so, but some of the increasingly popular ones are brands like Canterbury, which offer various types of football team kits that can accomplish different tasks. Compression clothing will reduce build-up of lactic acid in muscles, making training go easier and increase performance overall. Cold leggings and shirts will help the player retain body heat during a game, while at the same time fighting bacteria that can build up while working up a sweat.

With all the recent advances in football team kits, and all the unique choices you can make for shoes, base layers, and training equipment, it's easy to play the way you want to, or to ensure your child stays warm and playing their best no matter the situation. Next time you need a gift for a football player, either casual or serious, consider the multitude of options available to you online.

Coach Factory Outlet Store - Guide to Super Handbag Bargains

Coach leatherwear is one of the finest quality brands in the accessories market, with super stylish handbags being the hallmark of their label. The first Coach bag was created in 1941 using skills and techniques that had been passed down through the generations. Now with their decades of timeless quality and cutting edge design, getting your hands on a Coach handbag can be a hefty investment of hundreds of dollars. But do not despair, a Coach factory outlet store could be the answer to your prayers, allowing you to buy one of America's most popular handbags at a snippet of the price.

Why Buy Coach?
The essence of the brand is quality, durability, function and style, with a range of luxury accessories and gifts for men and women to suit all tastes and styles. All handbags are double stitched using top quality leather, in a multitude of styles and finished using traditional hand-finishing techniques.

Finding a Coach Handbag at a Great Price
Discounted Coach handbags do exist and a factory outlook store is the best place to look. Usually run by Coach themselves, these stores sell handbags and other Coach accessories at a cheaper price by stocking collections from previous seasons. Out of season handbags are sent from the top boutiques and stores in order to free up space for new collections. Outlet stores may even stock bags which are out of season and never even made it out of the factory, as Coach send out their clearance stock to their outlet stores.

Some clearance bags may also have been rejected by Coach due to a small blemish or misplaced zipper, but this really doesn't detract from the quality of the bag and such a minor blemish would be unnoticeable to the naked eye.

Buying from a Coach factory outlet store guarantees you're not being sold a replica or cheap fake. And if you shop during the pre-holiday sales, at Christmas and Thanksgiving, you can be guaranteed even more discount. But take this piece of advice - grab first before you decide whether to purchase - competition is fierce in these stores, especially at sales time!

Just because you'll be buying a piece which is last season or even older, the beauty about Coach handbags is that they have such a classic style which will remain in fashion as long as you care for them. Not only that, if you bag a great bargain you'll have enough money left to buy two or three more bags to suit every occasion and look! If you don't have an outlet store near you, search online for clearance stock. Auction sites particularly feature clearance bags which can still be picked up at a bargain price.

Designer Bathrobes - Which Brand is For You?

For a practical gift this Christmas, why not consider the bathrobe. As the winter months draw in, it is important to feel at comfort in your own home, and the bathrobe is one means of achieving this. The bathrobe as it exists today originates from several distinct areas. Initially used solely to cover ones self after bathing, the bathrobe soon developed into an alternative of the dressing gown, used to cover nightwear on rising from bed. This provided warmth during the winter months.

The Japanese Yakata cotton kamino was another version of the bathrobe which became popular, used more as outdoor summer attire. Now all means of bathrobe use of such mentioned are common. Several designs are now marketed to the general public, bathrobes with hooded or collared necks, made from cotton or silk, wool or synthetics. A bathrobe can be simple in design or complex. It can be colourful or plain. But a bathrobe should always be a relaxing, warming and comforting accompany to the after bath regime. It can be easily seen that the variety of bathrobes and the designs they come in is extensive, making it hard to filter through this vast number of goods whilst in search for the perfect gift. Thus this article looks towards the two extremes of this bathrobe selection, the modern vibrant designs of Missoni Home, and the traditional designs of Hamam.

Known for their use of numerous fabrics and colourful pattern systems employed within their designs, Missoni Home has created an iconic image for itself, firmly establishing itself within the houses of the style conscious consumer since 1983. The range of bathrobes that the Missoni Home collection commands is impressive, applying an inventive use of colour to assault the senses, rarely straying from their multicoloured design brief. The iconic use of a narrow stripe pattern, involving the participation of countless shades of colour, truly makes the Missoni Home range a unique and highly satisfying brand. As an extension of their fashion line, the Missoni bathrobe is in its own right a fashion item, revered in its elegance and style. A very modern design, the Missoni Home bathrobe is very popular.

As far away as possible from the Missoni Home bathrobe, we would find the Hamam bathrobe. Designed with a more traditional brief, the Hamam brand emphasises its eco friendly practices and unmatchable comfort as its main selling points. Created in Turkey, the name Hamam derives from the local Turkish baths, or more specifically the Middle Eastern variant of the steam bath. A lesser known brand, Hamam bases its success on its traditional roots and design of its products, emphasising excellence over anything else. An example of this dedication to their design brief can be seen in their use of Microban technology, an antibacterial protection eliminating potentially harmful bacteria, mould and mildew, going the extra steps to ensure top quality. Providing soft comfort, soothing warmth and a classic stylish look, Hamam gives a stark alternative to the modern Missoni Home design.

Residing at the two extremes of bathrobe creation, modern vs. traditional, a look at these brands is a good place to start in the look for the perfect bathrobe gift. Where Missoni Home lacks in simplicity Hamam excels, where Hamam lacks substance it is Missoni which shines. Thus both brands have their pros and cons. For obvious reasons a beige traditional Hamam bathrobe would not please a consumer looking for a vibrant design. But from here is where the preferred attributes of the consumer decide which path is taken. These brands are a good starting point, but the true answer may of course lie elsewhere. This article doesnt even consider the types of bathrobe; the types of neck, the materials it is created from, all of which contribute to the consumers final selection. In the end it is personal preference which triumphs above all.

Thomas Freeman is a retailer of Amara, retailer of designer home gift's and luxury accessories. Amara is a firm supporter of both the Missoni Home and Hamam brands. For a further look at more designer bathrobes, visit Amara's bathrobe collection.

Ugs Sheepskin Boots, Slipper and Shoes - An Uggs, Ug, Ugh Summary

Sheepskin is quite amazing. Single layered sheepskin boots where the leather skin is on the outside and the wool fleece can be worn without socks whereas synthetic fur will make your feet perspire heavily and make your feet ice-cold in winter. Worse yet, synthetics develop an odor quickly.

Sheepskin bootsau natural are not like that; it takes a much longer time for odor to build up. With genuine sheepskin your feet do not perspire much, stay warm in winter, air-conditioned in summer.

Using water resistance and repellant cleaners are pretty standard. Make sure the surface is clean and dry and spray the area thoroughly and evenly with a back and forth motion making sure you spray the seams. Do not saturate. For best results, let boots dry 24 hours. During rainy weather apply stain and water repellant more frequently.

Read the manufacturers directions carefully. Apply down-wind and not near a flame. Many of these repellant's are extremely flammable and are not the healthiest of aerosols to breath in.

If you don't mind the color fading a little off your sheepskin boots (also referred to as Ugg, Ug, Ugh or Ughs), you can wash them in a washing machine. Use very cold water and a few tee shirts so they don't knock around and also act like scrubbers, and put your washing machine on a light-duty cycle for 10-15 minutes. Add Woolite. Do NOT use any other soap.

Pull out the boots at the end of the cycle and if needed, do a soft hand scrub with a little more Woolite with an old toothbrush or nail brush on the surface of the sheepskin swede where there may be some stains or dirt encrusted. Place back in the wash machine and rinse and spin-dry.

When you pull out your Uggs, put soda bottles into the shaft to keep the damp boots upright and let them dry in a warm place. Check from time to time so the leather isn't puckering. If it is, gently push and tug to keep the look of the boot.

Ensure equal drying by making the boot is equally wet so there is no water line. After they are dry you'll want to brush the suede with a soft brush to get the pile up and soften up the looks of the outer surface. Remember to re-apply the waterproofing spray.

Using cold water and using Woolite keeps the fade at a minimum due to washing. Sheepskin boots will stretch with wear. A good fitting pair should fit snug and not too tight.

Deodorize sheepskin boots is a simple matter. After the boot is dried use a mixture of baking soda and corn flour to deodorize and soften the inside of the boots. Take 2 tsp of baking powder and 2 tsp of corn flour mixed together and sprinkle them inside the boot and shake the dust around the bottom. Let them stay overnight and shake out the excess in the morning.

Before you buy Ugs boots (sometimes called Ugh or sheepskins), slippers or boots read what the experts have to say. Are they indeed crafted in a way that many call the most comfortable footwear experience they've known?

Five Secrets Older Women Should Know When Searching For the Perfect Denim Jeans

Jeans are a staple of every woman's wardrobe. However, searching for the right pair of jeans can often be difficult. For younger women, the fashion magazines are always filled with pictures of the latest styles and trends. But how does a woman over forty find a great pair of jeans? Here are a few tips to get you started:

1. Avoid trendy jeans

Acid wash, bleach, studs, appliques, and rips, all reflect trends in jeans The truth be told, we have all seen these styles come and go. If you want jeans that are always going to be in style, look for denim with a consistent medium to dark wash. Keep embellishments like appliques or studs to a minimum to prevent your jeans from looking too costume like or youth oriented.

2. Remember jeans come in other colors

Generally, when we think of jeans we think the color blue. But, today jeans come in an array of colors. Boomer women should experiment with jeans in other colors like black, white, brown and tan. Avoid pastel or bright colors which are better suited for twenty-somethings and teens.

3. Jeans should always be comfortable

While style is important, when shopping for jeans mature women should keep comfort uppermost on their minds. Many of today's jeans contain 1 to 2 percent spandex to provide a nice snug fit. However, if a body hugging jean may look good, it can be torture to wear them all day if they are too tight. A simple test to see if your jeans are comfortable is to sit or squat in them. If they tend to bind any part of your body, you need to look for a larger size.

4. Pay attention to the rise

Rise refers to where the waistband of the jeans hits your body. Low rise jeans or hip huggers as they were called several years ago, usually hit the body below the hipbone. High rise jeans generally hit the body above the hipbone. An example of a high rise jean is the tapered "mommy jean" of yesteryear that extended up to the waist. The most flattering look for most older women is a medium rise. Here, the waistband is on or slightly below the hipbone.

5. Make sure the jeans fit correctly across your abdomen.

Your jeans should be flat and smooth across the abdomen. A protruding zipper or significant creasing along the upper thighs is an indication that your jeans are ill-fitting. Choose jeans that are a size larger, even if the waist is bigger, to get a better fit. A gap in the waistband can always be altered.

Silk Scarves - The Eyes and Lips Have It!

Do you have the wardrobe blahs? The fall and winter and early spring are times when it is easy to get the wardrobe blahs. During the summer you can wear pretty much whatever you'd like and you'll feel great: it's sunny and warm and everyone is relaxed. But during the winter you're forced to cover up, wear clothes that are too cold outside and too hot inside and it's usually darker and drabber.

Don't go out and buy a new wardrobe at this time! It's so easy to do because you want to spice up your life with some new clothes that make you feel great. But instead, you can add some spice and interest to your clothes with a much more effective purchase: the silk scarf. Silk scarves are more affordable than replacing every stitch of clothing in your closet...for the amount of money you would have spent on new clothes, you can add a whole gamut of new combinations with many of these beautiful fashion accessories.

When shopping, remember that their primary purpose is to frame your face. Therefore, you should buy these designer need to's that look great against your skin and be particularly mindful of the color:

Select one that matches your eye color and another one to coordinate with your hair color. If you only buy two scarves, these should be the colors to buy. Some women, though, find that they can buy two or three additional scarfs based on their natural lip color or skin color.

If you have trouble finding ones that match your natural coloring, considering finding scarves that match your makeup, however this should be secondary.

Purchase plain colored ones (no patterns) and wear them in these options:

... The head wrap can completely cover your head, which is a very classy look. It can tend to be slightly more formal so it's appropriate for those situations when you want to dress up just a little.

... You can fold it into a strip and wear it across the top of your head to keep your bangs back. This works for both casual and professional looks.

... Consider folding it into a strip and tie it around your neck. This can really dress up a pair of jeans.

Metamorphosis of Ethnic Roman Costumes

History permeates every corner of the ancient city of Rome known as the eternal city. Their culture is the basis for todays society, culture and fashion. Much of the Roman clothing culture is based on the Greek fashion. They were also influenced by the Egyptians during the middle of 200 BC, but later on they developed their own clothing style, known as the Roman Clothing. To Romans, clothing was not just a means of covering their body, but it was highly symbolic exhibiting an indication of their class, social status, age gender, and occupation. They wanted to depict everyone around them; and to the rest of the world, what their place was in the society. It varied in color, style, and adornments indicating the persons position in the Empire. In the later years, these garments became appealing garments for the modern fashion aficionados. As time slipped, there was progress in the weaving methods, but the basic pattern of garments remained the same.

Traditional Roman Closet: Tunics and Togas:

Ancient Romans wore two types of basic garments, tunics and togas. Tunics were informal and indoor costumes, while togas were official and outdoor costumes. Both were made of spun wool. Tunic was comfortable for working and moving around indoors. Mostly white in color, the tunic was often undyed, and unadorned. Still, the upper class people wore tunics with some decorations so as to distinguish themselves from the slaves. Togas were adopted from the Greek fashion. It was an important garment and an indication of roman citizenship. No foreigner was allowed to wear a toga though he lived in Italy or Rome. Toga was the official garment of both men and woman of Rome. Later the trend changed, and togas were worn only by male Roman citizens.

Mens Clothing:

Men wore a tunic both at home and when they went out. Similar in appearance to a long tee-shirt, the type of tunic differed from one class to another. The tunic worn by common people, herdsmen and slaves was made of coarse cloth and was usually dark in color. Patricians wore white color tunic made of wool or linen. Magistrates wore the tunic called augusticlavia, senators wore it with broad strips called tunica laticlavia, and shorter tunics were worn by the military people. During special occasions, they covered the tunic with a white wool coat called toga. It was square or rectangular in shape and was draped around the body. The toga was an indication of the social status of the person. Togas of consuls and senators were edged with purple. Emperors togas were completely purple. Black ones were worn during mourning. Romans did not wear trousers, but later on they used one while they were hunting or riding called Gallic bracae. It was also worn by the soldiers for warmth.

Roman Woman:

Womens clothing was very simple and lacked luxury and exquisite elegance. They did not have distinctions in clothing like men that would indicate their social status. Their only distinction was the stolas which was worn only by married women. To compensate with this, they relayed more on hair styles and jewellery. Roman women also wore a tunic which was usually of knee length. Over this, they draped a stola which was a long dress from neck to ankle, with a belt around the waist. The stola was usually white, grey, or brown in color and all married woman were entitled to wear it. When they went out, they covered themselves around the shoulders and arm with a shawl called pallium and also covered their head with its edge. Covering their head was customary for every Roman woman when they go in public. Initially, togas were considered as official wears of both men and women. During the time of republic, togas were worn only by men. However, a certain category of women, Roman prostitutes ironically wore togas to indicate their lower status in the society.

Marina Docks

The word dock usually refers to an area of water between two piers or alongside a pier, which is a platform built out from the shore into the water and supported by piles.

Docks are used for recreational and commercial purposes and are categorized by marina docks, boat docks and floating docks. Recreational types include swim floats and fishing piers. Other categories include marina and boat launch docks.

Marina dock systems are constructed to specially fit the needs of a marina. Most of these docks come in the commercial dock systems, because those allow access for a fee. A well-built marina dock system permits boats to get into and out of the breakwater safely and easily. Storm and wake wave protection are crucial to all marinas for survival. So, the major location factors to consider while building a marina dock include history of storm winds, waves and floods; and whether a cost effective breakwater is technically possible.

There are a variety of choices, such as double tube floating breakwaters, tee section docks and a single tube floating breakwaters. The double tube breakwater docks are usually angled, providing protection from wind waves and the waves formed by boat traffic. The single tube docks are built in order to prevent waves forming between the shore and the breakwater, and thus allowing boats to tie to the seawall. The docks are made of aluminum, steel and log frames.

While constructing a dock, the activities should cause minimum disturbance to the natural landscape, have operations well suited with the existing environment, minimize most negative effects and improve positive beneficial values when possible and practical.
